While working with EDF website UI design improvements together with my colleague we tried to explore how it would be possible to improve quote & buy journey on tablet and other smaller devices. The goal was to look for a way how to make this process more enhanced and interesting.
Full journey consists of main four steps: getting the address; selecting fuel type; finding out current tariff details and energy consumption. Below are key points to improve journey UX.
After successful registration and email validation there is possibility to connect straight to MyAccount to see account overview and to send sms with a quick link that opens up a page on your mobile device where you can enter meter readings manually or make energy meter photo.
